Lactic acid bacteria are essential
In the past, I just took probiotics as a fad. They came in a pill bottle, so I'd take them one day, forget about them for a few days, and then suddenly, they'd expire. So, when I started taking probiotics, I'd just wonder, "What's so good about this?" and never really noticed any significant changes. Then, one day, I started feeling bloated more frequently and going to the bathroom became increasingly difficult, so I decided to give it a proper try.
The first week, I didn't really feel anything.
I made up my mind and started taking probiotics every morning as soon as I woke up. For the first few days, I didn't see any change, to the point where I thought, "Isn't this just hype?" In fact, I was disappointed. But strangely enough, after about two weeks, I started feeling less bloated when I woke up. Previously, I'd feel full as soon as I opened my eyes, but at some point, I felt much more at ease.
My bathroom routine has naturally changed.
The biggest change was my bathroom habits. Previously, I'd be fine for a few days, then suddenly feel unwell again, and my condition would fluctuate. But after consistently taking probiotics, I developed a somewhat consistent rhythm. It was the moment I truly felt the impact of my daily condition on my gut health.
A routine was created with just one meal time.
Taking it on an empty stomach worked best for me. I made waking up in the morning, drinking a glass of water, and taking probiotics my daily cue. Sometimes, on days when my stomach was a bit sensitive, I'd take it after a meal, but once I set a specific time, I rarely missed a day. This made a bigger difference than I expected.
You can't change your lifestyle without relying solely on probiotics.
To be honest, taking probiotics alone didn't solve everything. So I tried drinking a little more water than usual and cutting back on my late-night snacking habits. Just by sticking to these two things, I felt much more at ease. The days when I felt uncomfortable with gas, like before, have definitely decreased.
A habit that has become a part of our lives
Now, if I don't take probiotics, I feel like the day is starting off a little short. At first, I was consciously taking them, but now I find myself reaching for them naturally. It's not a dramatic change, but rather one that makes me wonder, "Why is it so comfortable these days?".
In conclusion
Probiotics aren't a nutritional supplement you can judge after just a day or two. I recommend trying them consistently for at least a month. Even if you start without high expectations like I did, you might notice small changes in your body at some point.
